Hi Robin and Charles,
I trust both of you are well?
I
have attached some screen shots of where we started experimenting with
the black and gold idea Robin had. We tried using the red and white
Africa Unite logo but it didn’t look all that good with the black and
gold so we redrew using the black and gold theme, let me know what you
think?
Please let me stress
that this was one of our first attempts at the black and gold theme and
I have requested quite a few changes that the designer is busy
implementing. I have asked for changes to the header in particular. We
tried using a lot of the black and gold but it just didn’t look that
great.
Please also note; Our
thinking is to keep the black and gold simple and understated but to
accentuated it with vibrant graphics and African textures.
We
are busy designing some sliding panels like the DA example below with
ads against RMV and promoting your financial book. I will send examples
when they are done.
I
thought I must give more clarity regarding what I mean by content.
Content for the web is always brief and to the point. It contains an
engaging headline and the first few lines of text must give the reader a
good idea as to the content of the article. If in doubt keep it short.
For example Helen Zilles newsletter is around a page. Good content
normally contains a relevant picture. People tend to read something if
it has a good picture associated with it. Ok so the question is what
sort of content? Interesting news is always good if it is relevant. What
is the party doing for its members? People like to feel important!
Comment on current events should go through the social and blog feeds.
Robin, newsletters are good but keep them short and to the point.
Here is an example from the DA’s website.
Regards
Jason
