A approximate representation of King Solomon of Judea and the Kingdom of David
Opening statement :
2 Chronicles 3:3 — New Living Translation (NLT)
3 These are the dimensions Solomon used for the foundation of the Temple of God (using the old standard of measurement). It was 90 feet long and 30 feet wide.
Or in the orthodox Jewish translation
3 Now these are the foundations which Sh’lomo laid for the building of the Bais HaElohim. The length by cubits using the middah harishonah (old standard) was threescore cubits, and the width twenty cubits.

The long or royal Egyptian cubit has been standardised at 52 cm - but this is not my final answer for the construction of the temple of God in Jerusalem -or the rabbinical cubit which is based on the remaining gates such as the Barclay gate- and it’s dimensions -my answer is based on David himself because what they forgot to include in their clever calculations was the way it was done in those days - the anthropological answer is different- more on the old standard of measurement of using the king or the Pharaoh himself and his personal cubit and palm breadth. But this would also have been turned into a rod of measuring - find this and you find the answer of how to build the temple of God .
Indeed - it is more likely to be about 52 than 57 in the old measurement ( think about Noah’s arc ) - indeed if it was using the old method it would be based on Davids own personal measurement because he was the anointed leader of the hebrews.
It was his personal Signature something the architects forgot . This is because it is all SACRED geometry .
Typically using the extra four fingers it would have raised it to from 49.2 to 52cm- no more.
The Mishna or other references are only what has been surmised by measuring only the gates whereas cubit measurements were at times different for land building and holy places. If it was one standard for the temple then it would have erred more on less than more. And despite everything on record … they do not have this answer .
A man and a warrior king who was not particularly tall or of large proportions . I propose it was less than 57 cm and less than 52 cm . But nevertheless it was exactly as it was proposed to make it a SACRED MEASUREMENT ! It is more likely to be a common cubit of around 495 mm which would account for King David’s height and proportions and added to the cubit his own four fingers to make it a ROYAL cubit . This would complete the measurements .
The perfect cubit had to be determined then to build the temple- King Solomon’s own arm … or KING David ? Remember he was forbidden to BUILD the temple but he was COMMISSIONED to instruct its measurements to his own son - Solomon .
That it would be both a ROYAL CUBIT and the anointed forearm of King Solomon or King David himself -makes perfect sense since he was chosen to build the temple and as every pharaoh or king did they used their own arm to measure the cubit to be used to measure the dimensions of the temple . It is simply deciding which Ling would have precedence . And if it was using the old measurement it would be in the style that built the arc and the pyramids before him in 932 bce. If so then neither king would use their own cubit but the one that preceded it . The closest to that would be the ancient Babylonian cubit . But there’s another catch … remember the Jewish people were released to Return to Jerusalem AFTER . The first temple was built 500 years earlier .
This way it was perfect . No other way can I see it being created to match or equal Gods golden ratio of 3.14 - / 1.16 than to use Gods anointed and appointed servant the chosen one- son of David to build the temple . King Solomon of a United Israel
Anything else would be a facsimile ! Not sacred geometry . God is a God of divine order . That is why he would choose the cubit of the king himself .

What is the true measurement of the cubit ? What exactly is the cubit ? And which cubit was used to build King Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem?
1. Firstly ,where does the word “ cubit “ originate from ? The accepted response to this is that it derives from the word “ CUBITUM” - Latin for “ elbow “ or “ forearm “ or lower arm . In Hebrew the word is “ ammah “( mother of the arm) singular or “ amot “ plural . For more reading on this check out wiki but it doesn’t give you ALL the info -
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubit
But whatever culture has used the measurement of cubit over centuries there is ONE common denominator - it is a unit of measurement starting from the ELBOW and going to the tip of the MIDDLE finger. And since we all have different heights it means it is almost impossible to standardise .
The universal man to show the mathematical proportions that show the universality top of the golden ratio in all things .
“ The Egyptian ROYAL or the LONG cubit comes at 1.728 feet or 52.669 cm .” The pyramidion which was the small pyramid on the top of the great pyramid to form It’s top.
But what complicated all of this is the fact that the royal cubit was taken from the current pharoahs forearm . So his pyramid would be measured differently to other pharoahs pyramids . But there is also another common denominator which is overlooked - the golden ratio .
This is 1.618 and known as phi. ADAM Rutherford in his book on the mathematics of the pyramids mentioned as did umberto eco in Foucault pendulum that however the cubit is measured it has to balance with the golden ratio .
This is not only spiritual geometry but spiritual mathematics . Eco also states that the base of the pyramid multiplied 96x 10 to the eighth gives 196 810000 square miles - which is the total surface of the Earth . A nice thought but now we can check ut in an instant !
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_geometry
It works out to approximately 510 million square kilometres which means UMBERTO ECO is correct ! AND IF YOU DIVIDE THE BASE OF THE PYRAMID by twice the height you get 3.1417254 - which is the formula of phi r squared . Again with the cubit you can and they did determine the centre of the Earth. But although the Egyptian cubit is nearly 5000 years old - it’s not standardised - and in every culture from the Babylonians to the Sumerians to the Hebrews … it’s not standard . And that’s the problem !
If you’re going to build the Temple of Solomon you need to know which cubit he would have used .
A young King David
2.Egyptian or Hebrew Cubit ?
We have the basic evidence of the Western wall and the dimensions of the Temple Mount which are recognised today at 485 metres x 315 metres x 460 metres x 280 /287 metres . But we cannot use this as the determination of King Solomon’s cubit because this is all sacred geometry of the highest order and must conform to the Golden Ratio to be TRUE !
a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.” The ratio of 2.5 to 1.5 is 1.666…, which is as close to phi (1.618 …) as you can come with such simple numbers and is certainly not visibly different to the eye. The Ark of the Covenant is thus constructed using the Golden Section, or Divine Proportion.
The Golden Ratio is a symbol of ideal harmony and has been found in many natural and artificial systems, including galaxies, DNA, and financial systems .
Rabbi Zalman menachem koren in his book the Beit HAMIKADASH states the cubit is according to the width Barclays gate and should be 57.4 cm . It is corroborated As -Sakhra ( the foundation stone ) and the eastern edge of the platform . (Page84) - here the sun is calculated by dividing the amount of cubits in the location of the azarah (?the inner courtyard)to the holy of Holies . This then is regarded as the RABBINIC CUBIT - 57.4 cm .
But this still does not answer the question… are there any records of witnesses ? Yes there is - one - Josephus Flavius - a Jewish historian who wrote controversially about the temple having witnessed it and about Jesus too referring to him as a wise man - but he did not meet any of the disciples of Christ himself . His claim to fame is having witnessed the destruction of the temple by the romans in 66 AD.
Josephus Flavius the Jew who some regarded as a traitor but was also a good historian
He gives all his measurements in cubits but once again this cannot be exactly determined . There is another way . Who gave him the dimensions ? Simple His dad .
The Lord has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work.” 11Then
1 chronicles 28
So it was David’s measurement of the cubit that was used to build king Solomon’s temple . Therefore - it must have also been a ROYAL CUBIT as were used also in Egyptian times by a measuring rod based on the current pharaohs forearm . The question is why the difference between all these cubits ?
Let’s go into it even deeper - a NORMAL cubit is 6 palms of 4 fingers each palm that is the straight fingers . The ROYAL cubit is one extra palm making 28 fingers .
The range of measurement is from 40 to 57.4 cm making it quite hard to calculate the REAL Hebrew cubit . Even when we look into ancient writings . Rambam ( wtf) he states in his treatise that too 7 years to write the exact dimensions of the temple - and remember in those days there was no internet - but they took their time - here us the link :
https://www.oxfordchabad.org/templates/blog/post.asp?AID=708481&postid=44173&p=1
Again we only have the current rabbi to give us the current measurement of the cubit - in the Jewish encyclopaedia of measurements - we go even deeper into the darkness of mystery - then of course there is the perfect cubit.
The Cubit.
The original measures of length were derived from the human body: the finger, hand, arm, span, foot, and pace. As these measures differ with each individual, they must be reduced to a certain definite standard for general use. The Hebrew system, therefore, had such a standard; the ell ("ammah") contained 2 spans ("zeret"), while each span was made up of 3 handbreadths ("ṭefaḥ") of 4 fingers ("eẓba' ") each. This division of the ell into 6 handbreadths was the one customarily employed in antiquity, but it was supplanted in Babylonia by the sexagesimal system.
The Old Testament mentions two ells of different size. Ezekiel implies that in his measurement of the Temple the ell was equal to a "cubit and a handbreadth" (xl. 5, xliii. 13)—that is, one handbreadth larger than the ell commonly used in his time.
Since among all peoples the ell measured 6 handbreadths, the proportion of Ezekiel's ell to the others was as 7 to 6.
The fact that Ezekiel measured the Temple by a special ell is comprehensible and significant only on the assumption that this ell was the standard of measurement of the old Temple of Solomon as well.
This is confirmed by the statement of the Chronicler that the Temple of Solomon was built according to "cubits after the first measure" (II Chron. iii. 3), implying that a larger ell was used at first, and that this was supplanted in the course of time by a smaller one.
The Egyptians in like manner used two kinds of ells in exactly the same proportion to each other, namely, the smaller ell of 6 handbreadths and the larger "royal" ell, which was a handbreadth longer. The latter measures 525-528 millimeters, and the former 450 millimeters, estimating a handbreadth as 75 millimeters. It would seem at first sight that the Egyptian system of measurement had influenced the Hebrew, and the two Hebrew ells might naturally be considered identical with the Egyptian measures. This assumption is, however, doubtful. Since all the other measures were derived from Babylon, in all probability the ancient Hebrew ell originated there also. The length of the Babylonian ell is given on the famous statue of King Gudea (beginning of 3d millennium
All THIS states is that a ROYAL CUBIT was used to measure the temple which means an extra palm of four fingers was added to the normal cubit . REASON BEING IS MEASURE 1000 people and you will get 1000 different answers. Take the average and it will still be around 42cm . Remember people were generally shorter in those days than taller. Adding the extra palm to represent the royal cubit and you would get less than 50cm.
3. THE PERFECT CUBIT
So there is another spanner in the wheel . It is the Freemasons . They of course supposedly built the temple on the direction of king Solomon . Of course everything would have come back to the golden ratio . But what if the cubit used was different in the part if the temple built ? This would complicate things even further .
Other renditions of king Solomon
Here is what it says :
THE PERFECT CUBIT . . . MASONIC LEGEND OR FABLE
Lloyd U. Jefferson, P.G.M. (Virginia)
This Short Talk Bulletin has been adapted from a paper delivered to the Virginia College of The Societus Rosicruciana in Civitatibus I Fedratus by Most Worshipful Brother Jefferson. We thank him for sharing it with us.
Masonry, the more it is examined, the more beautiful it becomes. This paper, however im-perfect, is an attempt to explore the origin of the Perfect Cubit. May it induce others having more extensive means of information and time for elaborate research to accept the challenge. Admittedly, the existence of a Perfect Cubit' as neither historical authority nor logical possibility to support it. It is commonly believed that the origin of Masonry took place at the building of Solomon Temple and that King Solomon was the first Grand Master, and Hiram of Tyre and Hiram Abif were his Wardens .
Dr. James Anderson accepts this legend in the second edition of his Constitutions when he says that King Solomon was Grand Master of all Masons at Jerusalem Hiram, King of Tyre, was Grand Master at Tyre, and Hiram Abif, in Solomon absence, filled the chair as Deputy Grand Master, and, in his presence was Senior Grand Warden.
Moreover, Reverend George Oliver in Antiquities of Masonry said these periods occupy a space of three thousand years. They are selected for illustration, because it is generally believed that Masonry took its rise at the building of King Solomon Temple.
It is said that Solomon recruited over one hundred and fifty thousand stone masons, hewers of timber, artificers of precious metals, laborers and overseers from all over the land, many speaking in strange tongues, making communication difficult. Chapter 2, Second Book of Chronicles relates how Solomon numbered all the strangers who were in the Land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David, his father, had numbered them, and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand of them to be bearers of burdens and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hun-dred overseers to set the people at work.
We must reflect on the monumental task that was Solomon to meld such a huge body of workmen, sorting out their various talents and abilities, and organizing them into an effec-tive and harmonious work force to commence building the Temple.
Yet, perhaps Solomon's greatest problem was the lack of a uniform measure of length by
which the stones, timbers and other materials could be joined with accuracy. He spoke of the
cubit, which was used as a measure of length by the Hebrews, Egyptians, and Babylonians, being the distance from the elbow to the extremity of the middle finger or approximately eighteen inches. Understandably, the cubit would vary by the physical size of the workman or
overseer, and thus precluding the use of an exact measure. World Book Encyclopedia states
that generally the cubit was the length of a man forearm from his elbow to the tip of the
middle finger. The cubit of the Ancient Egyptians was about 21 inches long( 20.6)- 52.234 cm . That of the Ancient Romans was 17.5 inches. (44.45cm)The Jewish cubit was 22 inches.
- ( 55.88 cm )
Coil in his Masonic Encyclopedia says the cubit was a measure used by the Hebrews, the exact length of which has been the subject of much uncertainty and dispute. The majority opinion is that it is the length of the forearm and hand from the elbow to the extremity of the middle finger or approximately 18 inches. (45.72cm)
The Egyptian Royal cubit was 20.67 (52.502cm)inches and the Roman Attic cubit was 17.57 inches (44.628 cm )
Marsengill, Editor (The Philalethes Society) said, According to Bishop Cumberland, the Hebrew cubit was 21 inches(53.44cm) but according to all other authorities, it was approximately 18 inches (45.72cm)Two kinds of cubits were known: the Sacred (36 inches) (91.44cm)and the Profane (18 inches). (45.72cm)The measurements given in the Bible about Solomon's Temple are all based on the Profane or common cubit.'
Mackey Revised Encyclopedia refers to Hastings Dictionary of The Bible (page 967), We have at present no means of ascertaining the exact dimensions of the Hebrews ordinary and Royal cubits. The balance of evidence is certainly in favor of a fairly close approxima-tion to the Egyptian system.
The Maryland Master Mason Handbook declares that it is of great interest that archaeological research has revealed that in Solomon's day there were three different cubits: a Land cubit which was used for plot-ting the layout of the Temple’s courts and the surrounding terrace, which had a length of about 17.6 inches
( 44.704cm) a Building cubit used in the erection of buildings was about 14.4 inches (36.576 cm) and a Gold cubit used in the construction of the gold and silver vessels and decorative work which was equal to about 10.8 inches -27.432 cm). All these three are found to be multiples of the basic palm breadth of 3.6 inches which was used by the Babylonians and also the Hebrews.
Amid all of this confusion about a unit of measure, especially finding one which was uniform and dependable, it is claimed the Ancient workmen of the Temple fashioned a rope of human hair which was knotted at three, five, and seven cubits.
The human hair was chosen because it was unaffected by heat or cold, and thus maintained a constant length. He called this, The Perfect Cubit,'which enabled the workmen to join the stones, timbers and other materials with accuracy.
Worshipful Brother Lawrence J. Chisholm, Worshipful Master of Joppa Lodge No. 35 in The District of Columbia, authored a weights and measure section of the Encyclopedia Britannica in 1976, in which he included these historical comments regarding the cubit.
Although there is evidence that many early civilizations devised standards of measurements and some tools for measuring, the Egyptian cubit is generally recognized as having been the most ubiquitous standard of linear measurement in the very ancient world.
Devised about 3000 B. C., it was based on the length of the arm from the elbow to the extended finger tips and was standardized by a royal master cubit of black granite, against which all the cubit sticks in use in Egypt were measured at regular intervals.
The royal cubit (20.62 inches, 524 millimeters) was subdivided in an extraordinarily complicated way. The basic sub-unit was the digit, doubtlessly a fingers breadth, of which There were 28 in the royal cubit. Four digits, equaled a palm, five a hand. Twelve digits, or three palms, equaled one small span. Fourteen digits, or one-half a cubit, equaled a large span. Sixteen digits or four palms, made one answer. Twenty digits, or five palms, were a small cubit.
The digit was in turn subdivided. The 141th digit on a cubit stick was marked off into 16 equal parts. The next digit was divided into 15 parts, and so on, to the 28th digit which was divided into two equal parts. Thus, measurement could be made to digit fractions with any denominator from 2 through 16. The smallest division, 1/16 of a digit, was equal to 1/148 part of a royal cubit.
The accuracy of the cubit stick is attested by the dimensions of the Great Pyramid of Gizeh although thousands were employed in building it, its sides vary no more than 0.05 percent from the mean length of 9,069.45 inches (230.364 meters) - about 4 ½ inches in 755 feet'
In Oliver's Antiquities he said: The structure thus begun, according to a plan given to Solomon by David, his father, upon the Arc of Alliance, every energy was used to render it a perfect specimen of art.
Every stone, every piece of timber, was carved, marked, and numbered in the quarry and the forest and nothing remained for the workmen at Jerusalem but to join the materials with precision, on a reference to the marks and numbers, This was effected without the use of either axe, hammer, or metal tool so that nothing was heard at Zion, save harmony and peace.'It's a real testimonial to the Ancient Craftsmen that the parts could be so shaped at great distance and fit as they were intended. It is assumed this was due in part to the use of the perfect cubit.
Upon the significance of the three knots in the perfect Cubit . . . three, five and seven. Mackey in his history (Volume l) referred to the symbolic character of those sacred numbers in the teaching of the Ancient Art and Science . . . three, five, and seven. In the same spirit of symbolic reference, the steps of the winding stairs leading to the middle chamber were divided into a series of three, five, and seven.
At the onset of this paper, it was stated that the existence of a Perfect Cubit' has no
historical authority. Again, Mackey in Volume One (p. 9) states for a faithful and thorough inquiry of the history of Freemasonry, carefully separate the two periods into which it may be naturally divided, The Historic, and The Prehistoric.
The Historic is the period within which we have genuine documents in reference to the existence of the Order.
The Prehistoric is the period within which we have no such records and where we have to depend wholly upon legends and traditions.
In the preface of Mackeys History (Page Vll) Robert Ingham Clegg reflected that Brother Mackey . . . pointed out that the very age of the Masonic institution had tended to confuse mere traditions or legends with the authentic truths of history, and he welcomed light from all directions but carefully applied critical standards to the source and standing of the information that came his way. By no means was he ready to reject a Masonic legend as fable.
It is left to the Masonic scholars and prominent historians to determine whether The Perfect Cubit is a Masonic legend or fable.
The key is understanding the phrase “ old measurement “ or “ first or primary standard.

So we have a very big quandary .
WHO built the temple ? -And WHY was different cubits used to build it to different measurements- the land - the buildings and the gold vessels ???
Nothing sounds standard at all but all sounds random . Nothing exactly perfect.
But is it ?
Different measure the yet ONE standard - the sum of its parts must equal the GOLDEN RATIO - the sacred geometry by which the temple is designed must align with Gods laws of the universe - what we see in everything from a small snail to the entire planet Earth .
One formula . One perfect cubit - but what is it -and is it possible to rebuild the temple exactly unless you know which cubit was actually used for what ? if we use one standard there must be irrefutable evidence that it is true. It cannot be based on a jewish sect started in the middle ages. It have to be an unbroken line of knowledge that ticks all the boxes and so far the temple institute have NOT proven their case for 57.4cm. This is obvious. The only witness to the temple was Josephus and even that is sketchy.
To give you a idea of how it matters this is a study done on the construction of Noah’s ark using different cubit measurements .
https://creation.com/images/pdfs/tj/j20_3/j20_3_71-77.pdf
The Egyptians were most definitely the ones who inspired Moses and when they crossed the Sinai they found their own way of measuring the cubit which they called the ammah - our challenge is to find it’s exact dimensions .
There is a cross reference with the Masonic cult but even they do not know the exact measurements of the temple because nobody knows which cubits were used for what . It’s mostly just a good guess . I believe the rosy cubit was used for the buildings of the temple itself . The gold vessels may have used another cubit and the actual land could have used the normal cubit . Another way to do this is to see how the Egyptians uses the rod of measurement to standardise the cubit itself . However it could also be the staff if Moses in the desert - or even older if you consider Noah . At the end of the day we can only go according to the evidence that remains on the site of the Temple Mount. But even if we use that as a yardstick we need to reconcile those measurements to phi - fibanacci and the golden ratio to ensure all us built according to SACRED GEOMETRY - this is the only way to determine a PERFECT CUBIT !
https://www.freemason.com/behind-the-symbol-the-twin-masonic-pillars/
Ps it may even be far more simple than we realise - perhaps King Solomon measured his own forearm and used it to construct the temple - the one that only remnants remain. This would be the traditional way of constructing a temple or a pyramid because it PERSONALISES the construction of the entire temple and returns to the universal MAN of da Vinci and clearly cannot be wrong .
If so then one cubit is all cubits .
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitruvian_Man
Sacred geometry According to Wisdom 11:21, 'God has arranged all things in number, sequence and proportion. ' This statement is reinforced in other parts of the Bible
EPILOGUE : WHAT HAS KING DAVID TO DO WITH KING SOLOMON AND THE BUILDING OF THE TEMPLE ?
Every father wishes to bless their own flesh and blood . It was David’s sinful relationship with the mother of Solomon that had to be redeemed . But God somehow did it . David had other sons who could have received the blessing - the royal blessing - but it was Solomon who was given the measurements and directions and the commission to build the first temple to finally house the arc of the covenant in the holy if holies in Jerusalem . A place and a home not just for the 10 commandments of Moses given by God to man but also a DIRECT link to the Jewish and to all the nations of the world .
So what is a ROYAL CUBIT - and WHO would have that exact measurement ? SOLOMON or DAVID ?
It’s a simple question . If David was given the measurements by God on how to build the temple but not given the permission to build it then the cubit would have been his own . And since it was not a normal cubit but a ROYAL cubit it would have also been either measured according to his elbow or more specifically according to his four fingers of his own hand . 7 times 4 is 28 fingers . This measuring stick would then be based on his own individual measurement not a genetic one … why ?
Because this was how it was done . Each pharoah measured his own arm-or fingers of the palm excluding the thumb !
So this amounts to around 7.2 cm x 5 = 36 cm - again it’s an approximate figure … but the cubit plus the four fingers could be around 42cm plus 7.2cm = 49.2 cm - a royal cubit since the forearm would always be less than and not a larger figure such as 57.4 despite how easily it divides up . Then the stick would be created and given to the masons and architects building the temple because it was based on King David’s own measurements as was Noah and Cheops before him. They based it in their own body measurements which did not differ greatly . David was around 5.8 or 1.76 of ruddy appearance who skated a much bigger man called Goliath .
So any king building any temple would have used their own hand to create the common measuring stick if the day - it us like a SIGNATURE - David may have not been able to BUILD the temple but he could MEASURE it !
There is ample evidence of this . In fact the bloodline and the golden ratio is harmonised by the act of doing so - or the temple would not be built . The same would have applied to Noah when he built the ark . He would have used his own body to create the stick to measure the dimensions of what had to be built . That is why there are som many DIFFERENT CUBITS .
But why ?
Because the son of David and the temple although not built by David would always have something his father bestowed on Solomon . If God gave David the directions he would have used his own arm and that would have been the blessing and the inheritance of Solomon and the sons of David too . This is why any standardised measurement is only conjecture . As a son of David after the order of the DAVIDIC line the true prince of Judah would use his own body to create the perfect cubit to build the temple . Like King Arthur and the sword in the stone - only ARTHUR could take the sword out of the stone .
It was not David’s fault he sinned against God - he got tempted . But he had to pay for it . But god in his mercy passed on the cubit to his son Solomon and Solomon was given the PRIVILEGE to build the great temple the BEIT HAMIKADASH
Therefore the worthy one will come forward who will measure the cubit to have the temple rebuilt again . The son of David after the order of Melchizedek. Amen
You choose :
1.49.5 cm
2.52.2 ( Egyptian )
3.57.4 ( some orthodox )
4.49.2
5.42.0
6.40,0
7.44,0
8. 51.5
Using the old measurement would require a seamless method .
A cubit even using any arm should measure from 42 up . The extra palm of four fingers is 7.5- total 49.5 cm . This is the most likely. But if it was not using the extra palm to denote royalty then it would be the common cubit - which would not require any adjustment - if it has been a royal or sacred cubit it would have said do . More than that is not using Ben Adam - the source . It’s a difficult question but it has an answer .
If it were 72 cubits long - that would be any one of those numbers closest to 90 feet and 30 feet wide - if that is indeed the correct dimensions in the imperial measurement as written in 2 chronicles 3. 3 . However , it would mean that David was under 6 feet tall as was Noah as was Adam . If a standardised measure my was used to build the entire temple - it’s grounds and the gold vessels it would be incremented into palms . It is then therefore quite possible that 57.4 cm is incorrect .
So my question today is … what is YOUR cubit ?
Whatever the answer to this age old question even though the Vitruvian man is not exactly accurate - the cubit for the temple of God must be !
And so we come to the golden number which according to all books is …1.618. Go figure !
Post note : I finally came to figure out the cubit we will use in building the temple in Africa . Using the old measurement and not the royal cubit …
I’ve come to the conclusion that it works out to around 49.35 cm using the parameter of 10 metres or just under and the firearm method to divide into this metric scale . I’ve visited the Temple Mount when I was 19 . At this time I was very fit and although small I stood outside the done of the rock and I wanted to go inside to see the foundation stone .. but there was a very big guy about twice my size who said - you can’t go in ! But I wanted to so I said - let’s arm wrestle . And he agreed . It was done standing up man to man . I felt like Samson as I had hitched hiked all the way from South Africa and my dad taught me how to arm wrestle as a boy so I was quite good . This guy just laughed at me and my size .
And we hand wrestled for the next 10 minutes .
But he was much stronger than me and bigger . He eventually beat me . However as one warrior to another ( I had pretty long hair at the time ) - he said - “to you I let you inside the holy place ! “
And that is how I got in to the Temple Mount forbidden to Christian’s and Jews alike .
True story .
End : The key words are OLD MEASUREMENT not ROYAL measurement. It was the masons who built it but they had to use a common measurement and the head mason ( HIRAM) - used the King to measure the cubit from his elbow to his middle finger. Had he added the royal measurement of four fingers it would have probably gone up to 56.5. Therefore I don’t agree with the rabbi who used the door frame. I believe it was between 48.5 cm and 49.5 cm.
Not a royal measurement. But according to scripture… “ OLD or FIRST “ measurement meaning it was less than the royal total.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiram_Abiff
Hiram may have even used his own cubit since he built it. But more than likely it was King Solomon since he gave all the details to Hiram.
